Anthony Kim Is Alive! And Not Coming Back Anytime Soon

AP (I'm assuming Doug Ferguson) talks to the former future member of the Big 3/4/5, Ryder Cup hero and purported party animal and he's happily collecting on an expensive insurance policy he took out in case of injury.

And not planning to come back to the PGA Tour anytime soon. But it is Kim's first interview in three years.

He said he has not played a full round of golf in nearly 18 months. Physical therapy occupies most of his time.

Kim didn't entirely disappear, though sightings have been rare and have led to rumors, including one that he was sleeping on the streets of Las Vegas because he was out of money.

Is it just me, or have things been getting a little testy around here? To nobody in particular, may I suggest we agreeably disagree, when we do, 'cause a good chat sharing differing opinions is why I'm here and I think many others as well. Cheers.

As to AK, you're all stoopid gits, I know everything ;-) :-)

Understanding how the physical can rob you of your game, I just had both knees cleaned out and i got nothing, the good me sympathizes with AK. The cynical me hears about his partying ways, the insurance and his youth and my envy runs deep.

Head down, follow through.

Sounds like a plan. Choose one- I dunno.

I personally think he wants to play: as to insurance, hell don't you think any smart athlete would/should buy that for, well ,insurance?

Insurance companies will not pay unsubstanciated (sp) claims, and as to getting a doctor to ''sign off'', on large or questionable claims they will have their own second opinion brought in. Additionally, I have yet to hear of a doctor or a hospital that will ''fake'' a surgery, so I believe him.

As to his ''lifestyle'', Raymond Floyd financed a topless all girl band: I wonder how Timmy would handle that now?

If you feel like I am being ''testy'' in my posts, please advise, as it is not my intention. I can't help it if some people don't like my posts; I don't feel inclined to take a poll.

@adjuster ah the American tendency to mock things we don't understand. I am ignorant, therefore I will make fun of it!

There is nothing wrong with not knowing something, intelligent people seek to learn more, to mock just shows you as stupid.

Here's one to ponder...

...who's more credible -- AK or Ror's?

I'm surprised I didn't get more blowback on the in parenth's comments.... Well, maybe not, hard to refute facts.

Anthony's problem might be hypochondria. Treat the depression, and the hypochondria might go away.

"If you feel like I am being ''testy'' in my posts, please advise, as it is not my intention."

Yes, you're testy.
" Day has slightly edged ahead of Haas "
" How great AK really was"

It just gets better DTF.

Hey DTF, maybe Haas should just worry about getting a top 10 in major before he ever dreams about a green jacket.

Really was hoping Day won last week to equal Haas' career win total in one single year. Might not be the best time to double down on past statements...

Duval was always more of a player than Kim. Kim just got lazy.

" Might not be the best time to double down on past statements... "

KyleU, all you have to do is disagree with DTF and a switch goes on where he's doing more than doubling down. Reminds me of a Hall of Fame football player who convinced himself that someone else committed the crime even though he did it. I mean, it's not possible for anyone to really believe that somehow Bill Haas has had a better career than Jason Day. Is it?

I never heard about the laundry list of injuries posted here , but a bad hand injury can ruin a career. If he gave up his career for 20 million dollars ( Spieth made 22 million in just one season.) , that's his choice. While it seems like a bad choice , maybe he can't play dead now. Party on Anthony.

Personally I turned into a big Ak fan somewhere along the way. I loved the Augusta birdie binge and it was delicious how he dispatched Allenby after the commentary he made about AK partying late. Loved the irony of Allenbys lil incident in Hawaii.

I saw AK at Lakewood a few months ago- now in ponytail and tats - and I have a grudging admiration for a guy who wants to be himself in a world of button downs. He is not asking for our acceptance.

The AP article was unclear - If AK had spinal fusion (surgery) its likely game over golf wise- ain't nobody faking that one. I know Retief was able to get the prosthetic disc, a very big surgery and recovery --but fusion is the last stop on the train. I am guessing AK meant surgery for bulging disc not fusion.

They don't do surgery for hypochondria.

Ghost ...Furgal

I'll take that under advisement. Thanks. I suggest to not read my posts, unless you would cite what I said that was testy.

Digsouth, you asked like you really wanted to know so I was just trying to help you. Sorry to have offended you. Thought you wanted the truth?
Ghost-

Hey man, you haven't offended me. I was just asking you to give me examples of what I post that is testy. Just trying to be more readable.

"Duval was always more of a player than Kim. Kim just got lazy."

Huh? Are you drunk?

"Hey DTF, maybe Haas should just worry about getting a top 10 in major before he ever dreams about a green jacket."

LOL...tell that to Sergio.

Oh shoot, I'm sorry....seems that born stupid is a real possibility, I really should give you a pass for that -- my apologies.

DTF, are you saying that AK was a better player than Duval?

"DTF, are you saying that AK was a better player than Duval?"

Can you read?
10.1.2015 | Unregistered CommenterDTF
Al, my apologies....that last post was a little bit snarky on my part.

Tell you what, I am interested in your opinion on how AK and DD stack up against each other.

AK was able to play 4 seasons as a Touring Professional before injuries took their toll and prevented him from playing a regular schedule...

...how about you compare & contrast AK and DD's first 4 seasons as Touring Professionals and publish your conclusions on the topic? I think that would be a neat exercise for you and in return I promise to review it and offer my opinion/assessment on the info you present.

Sound good?
10.1.2015 | Unregistered CommenterDTF
How about we do what just about any other reasonable people would do, compare careers? Billy Ray Brown was a great collegiate player but didn't do a whole lot as a pro. Sounds like you just want to make a comparison that somehow is going to make what you claim to be accurate. I'm really starting to worry about you. You're on a losing streak lately with some of these statements like Haas is better than Day, Allenby and Elk are good guys, and now AK is better than DD. What's next, Robert Damron has had a better career than Zach Johnson?
10.1.2015 | Unregistered CommenterAl
"...and now AK is better than DD."

I was right in the first place, you cannot read.
10.1.2015 | Unregistered CommenterDTF
Hey everyone, what about my comments in the parentheses? Surprised more people didn't read them and think they were really great? LOL LOL LOL
10.2.2015 | Unregistered CommenterT. Brown
T. Brown...if I didn't know better I'd say you are trying to hurt my feelings...LOL. Did you figure out who I was referencing? And BTW, welcome, look forward to your second post ;)

Aah DTF, Kim better than Duval.

Comedy gold.

How many names you up to now Center Cut? Let's see, mehstag, Center Cut, David Bedie, Eamon Ginson....what else? How's the pom?
10.4.2015 | Unregistered CommenterDTF
Poor DTF, when he has no clue and is intellectually and factually out of his depth, he attempts to play the man and not the ball.

Looking forward to the next moment of clarity....
