New Look, New Features

Yes, I've officially entered the blogosphere.

Please bear with me as I try to adjust to the new look and figure out how to publish the archive of past posts (if possible). This should allow for posting more often and for those wired into the whole RSS thing to be notified of posts.

You'll notice now that there's a comments section after posts. This could prove useful and interesting assuming the comments will be posted to add insights to stories posted, or to offer additional links, or to correct my mistakes. Or it could require registration, monitoring, etc... Hopefully not.

Thanks for your patience and thanks for checking in. And feel free to comment below on the new format.

New site looks great. Nice to have it on RSS.

Geoff, you scared me this morning! I thought I logged into the wrong site or that you had disappeared.
Looks great, hope it wasnt to hard to do.
Do you know what RSS means?

Al, I'm the wrong one to ask about RSS. I understand the concept, not sure if I understand how it works yet. I'm still learning the various acronyms!

geoff, welcome to the blogosphere. as a suggestion, you might want to put a redirect on your old website. all i got this morning was a default page from squarespace saying the site couldn't be found.

cheers,
woody

Woody,
Today's replacement day for the old site, so it's going to take a while for it to work, but hopefully you should be able to keep the old URL bookmark and it'll take you to this site. They say it takes about 24 hours. For me, the new site works on AOL's browser but not on Firefox.Usually it's the other way around.
Thanks,
Geoff

geoff,
i'm using firefox and it looks great. the only thing i find is that it's hard to pick out the links, as there isn't enough colour differentiation between text and link. underlining the links again would solve that.

cheers,
woody

Woody,
Agreed on the blue, good call. I've switched it to a lighter blue, may still have to go another color to make the links stand out.
Thanks,
Geoff

The font seems kind of small to me, I am having a little bit of a tough time reading the text of the general updates. Other than that looks good!

Glyn,
Thanks, I agree on the font and bumped it up to size 10. Squarespace makes it quite easy!

Al:
RSS (real simple syndication) is a way that Geoff's web output is updated automatically and we can look at the different titles (tabs) and select those we are interested in by just selecting his site on the toolbar.
Suggest you look into RSS (XML) on Google.
