$ilverRock Woes

The City of La Quinta's SilverRock project is 50% over budget, causing the city to wonder if spending another $68,000 to please the PGA Tour is worth it. At $15 million, with half a million on "dust control," what's another $68k?!

This is what they get for placing all your eggs in one basket. That basket? Arnie Palmer.

Whle The King surely couldn't have predicted the weather in 2005, as well as the damage that it would cause, I don't feel sorry for the city one bit. They utilized Palmer from every aspect. From preliminary site maps to even suggesting the land planner from Newport Beach (whose name escapes me at the moment)

They (The city of LQ) wanted Arnie to deliever them the Hope, and while he did, whose the one falling short of the mark? Why of course! The City of La Quinta who strung-along 36 seperate golf architecture firms who wanted to compete forthis project and were led to believe that they were competiting yet never really stood a chance because the City had already knew who was going to design this white elephant that is just like every other Palmer course in the desert--over-designed and over-engineered and most, just plain uninteresting!

Good luck with all of it La Quinta. You deserve what you got!
