T&L Golf Profile of Rustic Canyon

TLGolfNov2007cover.jpgThomas Dunne profiles Rustic Canyon in the October Travel and Leisure Golf. Warning: I'm quoted extensively.

I've also posted various items related to the course, including before-after photo sequences

Nice write up. Any update on the Union Bay project?

You need to pick up the hard copy of the magazine so you can see a picture of Geoff, our hero!!

I wonder if the course is playing fast and firm this week.

Geoff
great article. You should be very proud!

Are you able to put "bête noire" on your business card?

Congratulations Geoff, sounds like my kind of place. The next time I'm in LA I will put it on my list of things to do.

RM: The next time you're in LA, run, don't walk, to the "only" $5 million clubhouse and get your tee time. You'll thank me later.

Not to suck up to our host (well, too gratuitously), but despite the fact Geoff can't drive a bulldozer, Rustic Canyon is one of the best-kept secrets in SoCal golf. I played this course on a Wednesday afternoon three years ago and had a great time -- despite not playing a great round.

At that time, it was $43 with cart -- grand larceny for a course like this.

And if any of you have the opportunity to play a Gil Hanse course, take it. If I had enough $$$$$ to build a course, Gil would be on speed-dial.

T&L Golf is a tremendously underrated read; I get more out of it ordinarily than Golf Magazine and Golf Digest combined.

It was really a nice writeup, Geoff. Did your dad get a special rate?

Another excellent article by Tom Dunne.

When is the Shackblog Open going to be scheduled at Rustic Canyon? A trip I'd try to make. . .

Bad timing Smol - Southern California needs a break.

Smol
you are right on with that suggestion.

Now if Geoff can bundle this tourney up with a round at Riviera, I think we got something. Count me in.

Nice story. It makes me want to play the course even more than I already did. I'll second the notion that T&L is underrated as well.
