Ames Win Ensures Another Year Of Calls To Put Skins Game Out Of Its Misery

I almost feel sorry for the folks running the Skins. Almost. But this is clearly punishment for exempting the Players Championship The PLAYERS winner two years ago.

How about this to revive the Skins Game? Four tour players put up a million dollars each, and they go at it like we do for $20 each every weekend during the summer. OK, only half a million each. I'd watch that. Given the time of year, the "competition" will still have to he held on a desert course, but that won't matter when they are playing for their own money. Now, who among them has the guts to do that? I can think of only two.

Maybe Tiger could put together a skins side pot in his challenge. Everybody puts up $250k, and the skins for the week split the pot (except that 1/2 of the money goes to the charity). Win, win.

What do you have against Ames? Clearly he isn't the only player in the field worth replacing. If you're complaining about them having to bring him back, you could do a lot worse than Ames. Brett Wetterich.
