Pampling Speaks!

At least one more player besides Stuart Appleby was willing to go on the record about Phil's missed pro-am.

"He could have still made it here," [Rod] Pampling told reporters after carding an opening-round 68 on Thursday.

"The (PGA Tour) rules say you have to play in the pro-am to play in the (main) tournament so in my opinion he shouldn't have been allowed to play."

How could one not come to the same conclusion as Rod Pampling has done?

We don't care about the PVB Posse spin on this topic is, just love hearing all the common sense Pampling and Appleby are making.

BTW, Love Field airport was open at 5:30am Wednesday morning Stuart.

Here's the SHAFT the PGA Tour shoved up David Frost's ass.

Turns out David was granted a sponsor exemption for the event, he voluntarily choose to play in the sponsors Monday Pro-Am, not thinking he had an outside chance of even sniffing the Wednesday Pro-Am he choose another golf course closer to his home to practice on that day. When he arrived for his Thursday tee time he was informed of his DQ by his not participating in the Wednesday Pro-Am. No good deed on Monday will go unpunished.

Speaking of Monday's, how about the time Donnie Hammond Monday qualified for a PGA Tour event, then was informed by the PVB militia that he was ineligible to play in the event because as a member of the PGA TOUR he had to commit to play in the event even if he'd been the 101st alternate. Isn't that the reason he entered the MONDAY-Q, because he knew he was the 101st alternate.

Speaking of Clown missions, did anyone see Commisioner Finchem using the Phil excuse last year when he claimed to Tom Boswell that his plane was stuck in Ohio due to inclement weather, he wasn't in DC for that events proper burial.

I doubt the media would be seeking comment from Phil if Pampling got stuck in the Avis line at DFW.

A player does not need to commit to Tour event to play in Monday qualifier.

Could it be that Phil didn't want to talk to reporters early week about the Rick split? Could it be that he was more interested in missing that media gang bang than missing the pro-am? Could it be he knew that fewer reporters would show up to pester him on Thursday play day because they had to get in front of leaders that day? Since he has his own plane, couldn't he leave Arkansas (Arkansas?) pretty much any time he wanted?
