The Golf Club of California Closes

Thanks to reader Scott for Tod Leonard's extensive and fascinating look at the demise of The Golf Club of California, which closed its doors November 1.

The moral of this story: don't let home developers design golf courses. Or run them.

Are you kidding, feeling sorry for her! I was a former member. She is absolutely the worst golf club manager I've ever experienced. She has no clue what so ever and her people and management skills would fill a thimble (maybe). She is personally responsible for driving down the membership from ~220 to ~50 in a relatively short time span.

Feeling sorry for her is like feeling sorry for the Corporate Executives who pay themselves millions of dollars in bonuses, while they layoff the working people, and then go before Congress to ask for bailout Billions so they can do it all over again!!
