The view from the upper third tee this afternoon. With the sun out, crowds swelling and the course firming up, it feels like a U.S. Open.

Not only did Rees botch the bunker, he also banked the cart path away from the hole.

The bunker is bleh, but the cart path destroys the entire composition. Golf carts: The peculiar American perversion of the game. One of the best things about most major championship venues has been the dearth of cart paths defacing the courses. Until this US Open.
