" I don't know how you measure that, but that's good stuff."

Remarkably, Tim Finchem was peppered with questions yesterday in St. Louis and not one scribbler asked--for the entertainment of the fans next door--if the PGA Tour was considering an English speaking exam for its foreign players.

Sadly, the Commish was on his MBAspeak medicine, so we only gone one fun line ("programming inhibitions"). Even worse, I liked what he said about the FedEx Cup points volatility and Padraig Harrington's virtual elimination after two missed cuts:

I do think that the Padraig Harrington thing actually stirs up debate about this, and debate is good and healthy, and some level of controversy gets people talking about it. People around the country are having a lot more discussion on talk radio this year than last year, so I don't know how you measure that, but that's good stuff. So we'll see what happens.

Actually, Finchem was asked about his English proficiency at the end of the scrum, in jest, and said, "What did he say?" He got the joke. But if you can find any sport talk radio outlet chattering about the FedEx Cup, call me.

No chat about the FedUp Cup here in Philly on sports radio.

As I said before:

These aren't playoffs. Maybe if they had the top 30 or 50 play all the events it would be more interesting. Why reward someone who finished 140 during the season with a chance to get hot during these events?

Is the man daft ? FedEx golf playoffs on sport talk radio ?

Pro football and college football have started. Baseball is coming down the home strech.

Golf on radio/TV sports talk is only on Golf Channel, or maybe 1 minute of some ESPN highlight reel.

There will be some summary, or maybe even a few minutes of Ryder Cup on sports talk, if the USA wins, but that is about it.

Finchem-speak again. Maybe when he's sitting in the barber chair every other day (seemingly), he should turn on sports radio. FedEx Cup? What's that? A quarterback's play-call?
