Kaymer WD's From Chevron World Challenge With Hyperextended Pocketbook

Martin Kaymer has pulled out on the eve of Tiger's event this week. No reason was given.

Look, it's a long flight from Dubai to LA and I can't blame him for not wanting to whap it around Sherwood when the bank account is brimming from his newly clinched European Order of Merit crown. But for someone who is quite proud of his meticulous preparation and planning, perhaps he should have thought twice about entering in the first place.

So how would this go down if Anthony Kim made the same move? Damned if Kaymer's not burning bridges where the concrete footings haven't even set!!

Using 'pulled out' in TW blog may be in bad taste, or not.

Tiger should understand about premature withdrawal

A disappointing decision as Kaymer seems to be a likable kid.

I guess there's no appearance fee from Chevron.

Pulling out of a silly-season event held in the worst month of the year for golf is a non-event.

The Chevron tournament has never been that compelling and everyone is exhauted. It is the same thing with the Nedback Million Dollar Challenge in South Africa this week.

They kiilled off the Skins Game, now it is time to kill off the Cheveron World Challenge.

Also, the European Tour announced that the season-ending Dubai World Challenge will take place in mid-December next year which is also far too late into the Christmas holiday season. This scheduling crap is getting out of control.

Also, there won't be any Euro tour members at the Chevron next year unless it is played the week before Christmas.

WikiLeaks is a bigger story than this.

Vincent Chase, ask Rory Sabbatini is pulling out of a silly season tourney "is a non-event"...

This event has tired blood. Borrowing a page from Texaco Hope, Chevron should adorn ten "Woods Girls" with t-shirts, spelling T-I-G-E-R W-O-O-D-S.

Great news. Europeans play in the US far too often. MK should keep himself fresh for the Gulf Swing.

They killed off the Skins Game? Who knew?
Oliver, had G. McDowell not gotten the last minute call to replace Tiger this time last year the rest would not be history. I suspect Graham would take the exact opposite of the position you have staked out. I'm inclined to think Graham is in a better position to judge the situation than say for example, you...
