2010 U.S. Women's Open Open Thread

Sorry I'm late to posting this but after reading a Tweet from F.X. Flynn (below) I realized that I'm missing an NBC telecast involving Johnny Miller and Oakmont!  A 63 drinking game is in order, if it's not already underway at households around the land. And as for this thread, any other rants you'd like to post about the rapid pace of play are always welcome.

Doing some not-quite-live-blogging over at Mostly Harmless before the telecast. Come on over if you're interested!

Question 1: is Oakmont playing easy today?!!
This is the first woman's tournament I've turned on in a long time, but I wanted to see Oakmont again.

What a great looking course! Right there at the very top with all the trees gone, imo.

I was hoping Juli Inkster would do well, but she missed the cut. She should have been the winner in '92 at Oakmont, but was the victim of that drop given Sheehan in the 18th fairway.

I'm looking forward to the Open Championship as much as anyone, but the lack of Woman's U.S. Open discussion is troubling. It's a great tournament and there is some great golf being played. Sexy Paula Creamer is looking good right now, Kerr's extra weight has finally caught up with her, she looks tired.

Fantastic performance from Paula Creamer. Very pleased she's finally nailed one. She played beautifully coming down the home straight.
db - i just learned about the SHeehan drop when I read the Inskter interview a few days ago.....really surprised i never heard of it before

Inky said i believe that she didnt question it because Sheehan was/is? a good friend...bull i say i would have questioned it even if it was Jesus i was playing with it

Forget PV, CP, AN, and Seminole. Oakmont goes to the top of the list.

There was nothing wrong with the Shehan drop at OIakmont I was watching it from an
ABC announcer tower. The ruling was handled by Anne Beard of the usga women's
committee. Mrs Beard knew what she was doing - and then some. I

Watching the play on the greens was very very sad.

Super-fast greens have jumped the shark.
