Does the over/under on the delayed start time include the CBS Sports Highlights show right after basketball? If so, I'll take the WAY over.

It's going to be a close call on CBS- 15 minutes to play the last 5 minutes.
I think it may actually happen!

Number of times Freddie stretches his arms above his head followed by hitching his pants with his elbows. . . Number of times JB gives a quizzical look at his caddy. . . Gary McCord references to kikuyu grass as "gnarly" . . . Faldo reminiscences about his win at Riviera. . . So much to look forward to - maybe it will be a rain out?

Geoff I promise never to tell Jerry West that you griped about the West Virginia basketball game.

I spoke too soon- Huggins and Bray and the refs are apparently being paid by the hour.
CBS is now 5 for 5 in running over - what a joke.

CBS golf during college bball season starts at 3:10 at earliest - even if bball game ends on time due to the CBS NY sports desk report... has been that way for at least a few years now... don't know why people haven't caught on yet and still complain.

What's the story on Anthony Kim? Still brooding over the bad break? Did he lose his voice dropping all of the f-bombs? Cocktail flu? Is he be protesting the Jim Gray suspension?
Too much action on the "over" regarding Nantz's "friend(s)" comments. That is the scuttlebutt on why it is off the board.

And down goes the Faldo talking about his win comment WR

Telecast ends at 3pm Pacific with the field still on the back nine.

I'm on mountain time. 4 to 4:30 we're getting an infomercial on the hammer driver. Too bad as the tourney was very enjoyable.

Hey Wisconsin Reader, what are you doing here ? I figured you'd be too busy with the Saul Alinsky - Organizing for America rally over in Madison.

Watched TGC "extended coverage" of end of 3rd rd. Seemed like eavesdropping. Kinda like sneakin' into the drive-in movie as a kid. Disney only of course.

Why couldn't TGC have picked up when CBS vamoosed? CBS crew issues?

Had a great morning walking the course with my 6-year-old son. Highlight: Ryo Ishikawa, walking off the course early Saturday morning after finishing his second round, spots my son, and stops in his tracks. Takes his golf glove out of his pocket, autographs it with a sharpie, and silently hands it to my son with a smile. Ryo has two fans for life.

Crowds were thin, but weather was supposed to be awful, so that's a factor.

Great report Squeaky. Good onya Ryo.

As for the crowds, late in the day today on TV it looked like more people were there today than late on Sunday last year (umbreallas might have made it look like more that what reality was). Jim Nutz waxed eloquently about the "amphitheater finish" we are in for at 18 tomorrow...good luck with that.

Saul Alinsky, my ass. More like Eugene V. Debs, Walter Reuther, John L. Lewis, Big Bill Haywood, David Dubinsky, Marvin Miller, Mary Harris Jones, and Crystal Lee Sutton. Hey, one man's dream is another man's nightmare.

What's the over/under on number of spectators in the amphitheater?
A reminder KLG: NORMAN THOMAS!

Jerry West's kid help rally West Virginia to victory. I heard him say last fall that his son didn't want to play this year but Roy (used car salesman) Huggins talked him into helping a team that needed help. After today I am guessing that the kid and Jerry are glad it happened.

Hornet buzzing about Madison protests . . . Wisconsin people are too "nice" to really do much other than walk around in protest - stop for coffee - have a piece of pie - then go back to work. . . Too bad - since many of us would love to see The Governor call out the National Guard. . . A majority of the Wisconsin guard have their real jobs as Teachers - Cops - Firemen - working class types . . . Their loyalties would lie with - just as the GB Packers are - with the regular folks. . . Solidarity - coffee & pie topped with a slice of Colby cheese - Badger radicalism.

Thank you, loops. That was a big omission! I have W.A. Swanberg's biography of Thomas on a shelf somewhere in this warren. Unless Mrs. Ghost finally started making good on her threats. But after going to bed last night I couldn't go to sleep because I left out the most obvious candidate for my list: Robert M. LaFollette, aka Fighting Bob, REPUBLICAN Governor of Wisconsin just about 100 years ago. Imagine that, Hornet.
