Kraft Nabisco and Shell Houston Final Round Open Thread

Phil Mickelson's 63 couldn't have come at a better time and while it'll be fun to see what he does Sunday, he's vaulted himself back onto the Masters favorites list after a mediocre start to the year. But it's the LPGA's first major of the year that has the potential for a fantastic finish with World No. 1 Yani Tseng taking the lead over Stacy Lewis, with Morgan Pressel and Michelle Wie lurking just enough that things could get interesting if someone goes low.

The warm-ups are ending and the golf season starts this week!

Looks like a pretty fair leaderboard in Houston.

What a talented golfer Tseng is. She manages to deliver the club to the ball at a speed which most of us can only dream about.
I can't believe the LPGA Tour can't get at least the weekend of this major on network TV, that's a real bummer. The leader-board is packed with great stories and women who can flat out golf their ball, most of whom happen to be quite attractive!

Houston was fun to watch for the first 15, and now it's clear the Nabisco is warming up ++++++++++++ Spoiler Alert ++++++ with Stacy and Morgan 2 under after 4 and Yani even. So there's a tie at the top and Pressel is only 2 back. ++++++ oops, Morgan just tripled. Well, watching her close the gap was fun while it lasted. I used to think she was whiny, but now I really admire her toughness.

I was trying to decide why the Houston course seemed so unattractive to me, and I think it's because it seemed to abandon all connection to the local plant life in the finishing holes. That, and it's monotonous and hugely over engineered with a bunch of repetitive rhythms in the landforms.

But a good win for Phil, and Verplank played very, very well.

And I'm glad to see folks chat about the LPGA!

Stact Lewis pitting out like Mark Calcavecchia.

What did Tseng do on that two foot putt back on 14? It looked like she tapped the green with her putter, on the line, in front of her ball going to the hole. I didn't think you could do that?

I never thought this day would come...that Tseng would cough up a third-round lead with four bogies...wait, this sound like we're talking about Tiger! Congratulations to Stacy Lewis...the road is long and the rewards fall to the diligent
Wow, some SERIOUS carnage down the stretch in the Pressel//Wie pairing. What the heck happened?!? Looks like a lot of people had tough finishes, was there some kind of crazy weather change or something like that? Good for Stacy Lewis, this could kick her game into overdrive.
