No, Tiger Is Not Acting!

I've received a few emails recently suggesting that press reports of Tiger's injuries have been inflated because no photos have surfaced of him in his medical supports. Radaronline has your proof.

It's a good thing he has that extra pocket on the side of his shorts to hold all his belongings.

That boot is out of the box, and I *kinda* know this Ortho stuff. The crutches are also brand new (check the nipples) and they are at least 2" too short for him. Can you all repeat after me "Publicity Photo".

How much did radar on line pay Tiger for the photo op?

[Insert crying smiley]

Geoff - maybe you ought to have a contest on guessing when the next time Tiger tees it up.... He must play at least two rounds, however!

Golffan, I heard that was Tiger on the grassy knoll in '63. He very cleverly faked a birth certificate to show he wasn't born till '75 but no question he was there and pulled the trigger. Earl was in on it, too. Go link the dots, man, I've got faith in you ...

"No, Tiger is Not Acting!" is that a double negative?

Did Geoff already suspect what GolfFan wrote?

Agree, crutches are way too short. However if this is a stunt, why?

@GolfFan
It could also be possible that he prefers his crutches to be slightly shorter than "ideal". I'm 5'10" but when I was on crutches I set them 1" lower than I should have because it was easier on my shoulders. As for the boot, he could easily just have bought it himself on his doctor's advice, much like how one would buy a wrist brace or knee wrap to keep around when one has a recurring injury in that area.

Confessional: I've been rooting for ABT (Anybody But Tiger) for a long time, going back to Bob May. That's a lot of negative energy devoted to something I love (golf). I took an unattractive amount of pleasure from his various troubles. Then Lebron came along and I basically did the same -- discovered myself a Dirk fan because I wanted to see the Chosen One lose.

I've had a little awakening lately: it's just not healthy to be so negative. Not healthy, not Christian, not cool, not a good example to my kids. So I'm telling myself to get over it and try harder to see the good in these guys or just move on to another, more positive topic -- take Harrison Frazer. To put it another way, and to quote from the late, great Mark Harris ("Bang the Drum Slowly"), "From here on in, I rag nobody."

@Josh (Hey man, don't be an apologist for El Tigre)

Crutch use depends on crutch fitting. 1" diff. from your height is not at all unusual, it's merely a guide, just as all shot guys or tall guys don't necessarily need length of club adjustment.

These puppies are almost 3" from the armpit. One bears weight on crutches with the upper part against the chest wall, not resting the armpit on it. Check the position. Tired arms really fast and maybe chest bruises, whatever forget the truth, IT'S TIGER!

some of you guys are hopeless, I love it

golffan, did it ever occur to you that TW is wearing a "walking" boot???????? Which means he can, well, walk on it, so he doesn't need the crutches as much as someone with a cast arouind his leg or ankle which is non load bearing. Hence, he does not need to put full weight on the crutches under his shoulder....Tiger is just too cheap to biuy the crutches which are shorter and use a wrist support...

gosh, some of you people are hopeless..and annoying...

I make no apologies for Tiger, but sometimes, as Freud said, "a cigar is just a cigar", and a guy using crutches too short for him is just that. It is a far bigger logical leap to assume that Tiger is just putting on a show than to take him at his word that he is injured. I am not looking for an excuse to 'apologize' for Tiger, just calling it as I see it. You, however, are looking for any excuse to denigrate him.

No excuses needed, the man provides his own fodder and always has.

When one is dealing with this sort of lost revenue - "Desperate Measures". It would be sad if it weren't so transparently pathetic.

You'd be better off quoting Groucho Mark with Tiger.
06.15.2011 | Unregistered CommenterGolfFan
What's sad if it weren't so pathetically transparent is your hatred of a man you don't know. By all means criticize him when he deserves it but this nonsense about faking an injury is cloud cuckoo land.
