Couples If He Wins: "It would be a walk off."
Dave Shedloski on 52-year-old Masters second round co-leader Fred Couples, who says he always feels young when he comes to Augusta.
He was asked more than once if he could win. "I believe I can, yes," he said succinctly.
And if he should win, well, Couples doesn't know what he'd do next, but it wouldn't include much competitive golf beyond returning to Augusta. "You'd probably never see me again if I won," he said. "It would be a walk off."

Does anyone else think he sounds like Yogi Berra?
On GC, he said "If you throw shots away, your'e giving shots away to the field.".
How do other non-American Shacklefordians feel?
If by walk off Couples means he would retire from golf or from Masters competition I am reluctant to take that seriously.
His current success on the Champions Tour is partially due to playing only 3 competitive rounds instead of 4 rounds on the regular tour. Couples is a wonderul player, no question - but playing and walking ANGC 5-6 times this week will take its toll on a 52-year old golfer, and his bad back. Unfortunate, but a fact.
