Reminder: Watch Davis Love's Ryder Cup Picks At 10:15 AM ET

TJ Auclair reminds us that we can watch Captain Love announce his four picks at 10:15 a.m. ET at this page on the official Ryder Cup website.

Golfweek's Sean Martin compiles an excellent breakdown of the candidates and their records this year, in various cup matches and what they're doing statistically. The staff also weighs in with their selections. Will Jim Furyk's 8-15-4 Ryder Cup record work against him? It's not that the others have stellar Ryder records, if they have one at all (Snedeker).

The SI Confidential gang has a lot to say this week but you can bypass the Tiger's state of mind talk for the Ryder Cup chatter and Captain's picks, where there is little agreement on the final two or so spots.

And of course, most important all were your votes. Whereas of post time, Steve Stricker, Dustin Johnson, Brandt Snedeker were overwhelming choices while Jim Furyk was a lukewarm fourth choice. You can still vote here.

McIlroy is now on course to duplicate what Luke Donald did last year - win the money list on both the PGA and European Tours. Chubby Chandler is awfully quiet these days.

Rory's got it going on....going to be a fun RC.

As for the picks...gotta go with Sneds and DJ who are playing well at the moment. The other two should go to Stricker and Furyk...Tiger needs SOMEone to play with and we know how it turned out with Phil back when Capt Stetson put em together.

As for "fantasy" picks: John Daly and Pat Perez...send em out first with 3 packs of Marlboros each and lots of gatorade.

Media maven, in NYC at NASDAQ HQ, who knows why...

Working video link finally appeared about 10.16am.

Key term being "video".....audio doesn't work!!

Have they ever heard of doing a mic check? lol. If only Finchem was there, we could blame him
09.4.2012 | Unregistered CommenterM
LOL....amateur hour! For the first few minutes the only working mic was the one in front of Davis, but he wasn't saying anything! You could however hear him clapping for whatever comments were made that we could not hear!!

Dj, Furyk, Sneds, Stricker are his picks

Solid picks. Happy for Snedeker - hope he plays great and scorches them with the putter. With some luck Dustin's back holds up...Davis might have to rest him some during the event to protect the back. Good job Davis. And so far I've not heard any mention of Robin during this press conference but maybe I missed it ;-)

Love Struck! I like all of the picks, especially Strick and Snedeker. No way we're gonna lose...er...good luck to GB&I!

Does this mean we can quit hyping Fowler or does the hype persist? #PGATOURMARKETING101

Ryder cup is PGA, not pgatour, I dont think they care about the hype of Fowler.

Now if it was Presidents Cup.......

the Furyk pick could be the updated disastrous Curits Strange pick

DTF: you're really riding that "back injury" point aren't you? :)

Furyk is as intense as anyone and a solid pick. He also won his US Open in Chicago so he has good mojo.

Stricker is boring and will do well if they pair him with Tiger.

DJ has the length but looked awful yesterday on the greens at TPC Boston. He hasn't played very well this entire year and isn't the smartest person out there.

I was hoping for Nick Watney but then again, if they don't qualify on their own, do they really deserve to be on the team?

Nice picks, if these great plays from the olde guys keep on a coming....however, Furyk has become a choke machine and the ultimate chaoke parade is the RC, according to these guys....... it doesn't matter ---I root for the indivdual match person(s), not the ponts/cup.... I 'd say The US team is great if it were 2 years ago....now, I could see a real whacking by GBI--I wish both teams well, and that includes Ole Jim.

Where was Curtis Strange on the points list in 1995 when he was a captains pick? I do know he was 6 years removed from his last win (1989 US Open) and had missed the 2 previous Ryder Cup teams. Seems like a stretch to compare Furyk's situation to that of Curtis. (and Jim finished higher than both Snedeker and DJ on the points list)

Sari, just looking out for the team....I mean the guy missed 3 months, that's serious business ;-)
09.4.2012 | Unregistered CommenterDTF
DTF , you are probably right, my Strange comparison is an exaggeration...but i still wouldnt have picked Furyk...might be his last team so i wonder if that went into Davis' thinking...
09.4.2012 | Unregistered Commenterchicago pt
Not an exaggeration at all. One of the few times I have watched a Ryder Cup on teevee and all I (I think) remember is Ol' 3-iron's dad's pop-up off the tee and Curtis giving away the final three holes to lose 1-down to Sir Nick. Just one of those things, I reckon. Wasn't that also the year one of our players (Jacobsen?) neglected to communicate with one another about a drop somewhere and lose a hole to the Spanish Assassin and his partner? Lanny did not deserve that particular fate.

these guys are good! :)
