Zhang Earns Web.com Tour Card, But Will He Be Able To Use It?

The PGA Tour has issued a press release congratulating (among others) Xin Jun Zhang as one of the historic five to earn a Web.com Tour card from the new PGA Tour China Series.

When contacted by this website to find out of Zhang's six-month suspension by the China Golf Association for signing incorrect scorecards would be recognized when Zhang is eligible for his first Web.com event in late January, PGA Tour Executive Vice President Ty Votaw said the Tour would have no comment.

So to review: a player may be suspended for issues related to his behavior in competition, behavior which may have impacted his fellow competitors, and the PGA Tour still will not comment on possible discipline even after a partnering golf association (in that home of transparency, China!) released a letter announcing the suspension.

Amazing.

Perhaps ask the Asian Tour Players what they think. It would be interesting to say the very least

No comment is unacceptable in this matter. This sounds like another PR101 mistake that will come back to bite them in the ass. Pretty sure his fellow competitors would like a comment Ty.

Agree metro18.

The no comment ploy from the PGAT is looking more and more pathetic. Grow some balls PV!!

I just want to know who is going to play with this guy. Back in the day he'd be run off by the players...too bad they have to do it in this day and age too

Johnny. You should have seen the reaction on FB from the Asian Tour boys when the suspension was announced. If they let this guy play, then shame on the PGA Tour.

Johnny. You should have read the FB thoughts from various Asian Tour boys when the suspension was announced.
If the PGA Tour let this bloke play, then shame on them.

Keep buzzing them on this issue Geoff, the more they realize how much they they look like dopes maybe they'll realize there's nothing to gain by keeping these matters secret. The speculation is often more inflmmatory than what actually occurs (at least I imagine).

Agree Metro18. The old fashioned locker room and schoolyard banter of old (FB these days sadly) is usually the easiest way to the real truth. Cheaters are everywhere but this guy seems to be pretty clueless, stupid, arrogant, or fancies himself as a deity of some kind.

C'mon PGAT. Man up and get on them inter webs!!!!! Where there's smoke, there's fire.

You can't DTF. It was private FB chat.

" I just want to know who is going to play with this guy. Back in the day he'd be run off by the players...too bad they have to do it in this day and age too "

may be its the best approach...let the players send this cheater packing...he won't hold up under scrutiny
