Instant Poll: Who Is Going To Win The 2014 U.S. Open

Well that was a grind of a day to watch, so instead of giving you a tough question here's a softball, in theory: who is going to win the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst?

Martin Kaymer
leads by five.

Who is going to win the 2014 U.S. Open?

I see no reason to believe Kaymer will give more than a few back, meaning the others near the lead are going to have to play really well. I heard Hank Haney this morning say that the reason Kaymer is so successful is that he never misses left. Well, so much for that theory Hank, as all his misses were left, at least most, such as 4 and 12 I think. He's a cool customer. Took his medicine on 4 and didn't let it rattle him. I'd love to see it tighten up a bit and then see what happens. Looks like Sir Davis has been paying attention as so far not a lot of manipulation, just tough hole locations. For a Pinehurst loving dude I think the course is shining. It looked great in person and it looks good on tv.

Wow.. this must be the most boring open for years. I guess we've been too lucky at Pinehurst in the past.

I don't agree Donald Luke. I don't see how anyone who is a real fan of golf can find this boring. I think there are too many casual fans who find it boring if Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson isn't in the lead. It is definitely a test, and the guys hanging in are maintaining their focus better than others.

None of Kaymers challengers have shown any pedigree to close the deal in a major..he may struggle(+3-4) but he's the winner.

Kaymer wins impressively tomorrow.

Anyone else think tomorrow presents a great opportunity for Ricky Fowler to grow up a bit and set a positive example on how to properly dress on a golf course by losing the punk kid skater boy hat? Thought sticking with that hat completely ruined the Thursday tribute to Payne, btw.

It's a great opportunity for Fowler to test his game under intense pressure. He's far enough back to make winning unlikely but near enough that he can get some useful experience and can try to put himself in position to win if Kaymer falters.

I hope RF can put together another strong round that helps him continue to develop.

Rickie Fowler is obviously a very good player but aren't we a bit sick and tired of his schtick ? Until he starts wining (Tournaments not just majors) I can't respect the Golf Channel's favorite puppy...makes me wretch
Oh' sorry...as to who will win ? I see no evidence of Kaymer faltering
Man of Mystery, what about Dustin Johnson? Or the thousands of younger generation who wear that style lid? Like DTF, you must also prefer the old-school AMANA look. You're showing your age.

Well, I find tournaments more interesting to watch when there are several people in contention going into the final round. Moreover, I haven't found the course set-up hugely compelling.

That's just my opinion.. I'm sorry Press Agent if that doesn't make me a real golf fan!

Would like to see somebody, anybody get off to a hot start tomorrow and put some heat on Kaymer to see how he responds.

As for Rickie Fowler I like the comment Johnny Miller said about him (that Geoff has linked on the right side of the page)... Big Hat, No Cattle. Perhaps tomorrow he can change that. However history of his play on tour in 5+ years deems that unlikely.

No way Kaymer loses tomorrow. He's too good with the flatstick. He might not ever be suited for Augusta with his right to left ball flight, but I could see this guy winning a few more majors, easily. He's got the entire package. Count me in as a big fan of MK.

San, DJ wears his hat like a normal player. As long as they don't put a microphone near his mouth for too long he's fine. I've only got 4 years on Ricky so I think I'm safe in saying that he's too old now to be clinging onto his skater boy past. He seems like a good kid and has made the right decision to go to Butch but man, he needs to grow up and stop dressing like he's just came off the assembly line at the boy-band factory.

Absolutely love the course setup this Year, they show a lot of flexibility with driveable Par 4s and I don't think the greens are over the top. All the complaining is just because players aren't used to this kind of test.

Stenson will win if Kaymer shoots 74. Which he will.

It has already been won as I type this.
The worker who cuts the holes in the greens wins every year..
I am proud to say that was my job for 26 years at my club.
Sometimes it caused them stop their cars and stare at the locations I had chosen, but I beat 'em every time.

Re Rickey Fowler

If he didn't have ears he couldn't see.

Time to wear a hat that fits. At least he got a haircut.
