good article. I don't see why the tour is so afraid of various set ups. Golf isn't supposed to be like bowing or tennis where the playing field is the same. No, it isn't the best if every week is a 27 under affair. But setting up a course ridiculously is stupid. The best players tend to get near the top somehow. Tiger can win a shootout or a grind. So let the couses and weather dictate more of the set up rather than protecting an arbitrary number. I like the US Open once a year. I would also like to see how pros handle a muni. I would love it if a course normal gofers find hard enough produces a 57 and a couple of 59's.. I'd also like to see pros handle imperfect greens. Let there be some variety.
