Mike Tirico left his post at Butler Cabin to talk to Tiger Woods after his even par 72. (Zach Johnson and Justin Rose came into Butler.)

A few of Tiger's notable comments:

"You don't really shoot low rounds here anymore. You've just got to plod along."

And...

"It's playing more like a U.S. Open than a Masters."

He also noted he only heard one roar. Other than that he loves the changes!

The problem at Augusta is that they added the rough (second cut) first, then they added the length (number 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, 17, 18.) If they had added the length first to maintain the shot values (wedges into 11 and 18 against mid-irons as designed), they would have got the desired result and maintained the angles of attack. Now they have the rough and the length. Those old guys with the green jackets are so stubborn they won't admit their mistake and return the course to its origins by cutting the rough. They didn't get to be CEO's and members at Augusta by admitting mistakes! Too bad.

I'm guessing Tiger would like nothing better than to be a member of ANGC someday, the better to set the course record. Why risk it?

All other players (including the defending champ) were required to visit Butler Cabin. Tirico scampered outside however for an audience with His Serene Tigerness.
