Tiger's Buddhism Bracelet Does Not Make It To One-Year Accident Anniversary**

When Kelly Tilghman breathlessly asked him about the rubber band he was wearing for his first television interviews, Tiger said the Buddhism bracelet bringing him inner peace never came off. But reader Mel looked at these Getty Images (here and here) shots from Australia last week and noticed it's gone. Maybe it was itchy?

It was hardly a "buddhist bracelet" .

Its a bit of thread that is tied on after visiting a Thai temple.

Some like to take them off after a few days, other believe its luckier to let it fall off by it self.

If you understood Theravada Buddhism which Tiger was brought up with, rather than the usual Dalai Lama / Hollywood version of Buddhism, you would get it .

Jock, sweetie ... do you think Tiger really practices Therapeutic Buddhism? You know, doing whatever makes him feel good? Get it?

Maybe he's wearing it someplace else that will really remind him of where his life left the rails. (Nudge-nudge, wink-wink).

From the 2010 March interview with Kelly Tilghman copied from the Golf Channel transcript:

KT: I noticed you’re wearing a bracelet, can we see it?
TW: Yeah.
KT: What does it mean?
TW: It’s Buddhist, it’s for protection and strength and I certainly need that.
KT: When did you start wearing it?
TW: Before I went into treatment.
KT: Will you be wearing it during the Masters?
TW: Absolutely.
KT: For the rest of your life?
TW: Absolutely.
KT: Tiger, thank you.
TW: Thanks, Kel.

While trying not to throw cold water on the well deserved pointing out of Woods hypocrasy, when have we ever seen Tiger play with any type of ornamentation short of the Masters ?
My guess is that even that little piece of string was a mental distraction - God knows his mind could be a segment of the "Hoarders" TV show.

He still wears it - just not while playing golf . . . Sean Foley believes it was negatively affecting his balance - causing him to move his head on the backswing and then crouch to begin his forward swing. . . If you see Tiger wearing the bracelet again during a round consider it a signal a new coach has been appointed - kind of like white smoke coming from that chimney in the Vatican.

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger - busted again. Once again, his deflective interview habits decend into outright lying.

Beware when hearing words like "always" and "infinitely"

Woods continues to exhibit and reinforce the qualities of the following psychological profile:

Hypocrisy and Psychopathy aside, today, if Tiger Woods was playing in Dubai, leading or competing to win, we all would be glued to the tele watching.

I'd rather look more deeply at myself, look at my faults and hopefully try to find a way to change or over come them then worry about a bracelet on Tiger Wood wrist.

The Theravāda school is ultimately derived from the Vibhajjavāda (or "doctrine of analysis") grouping which was a continuation of the older Sthavira (or "teaching of the Elders") group at the time of the Third Buddhist Council around 250 BC, during the reign of Emperor Asoka in India!

Vibhajjavadins saw themselves as the continuation of orthodox Sthaviras and after the Third Council continued to refer to their school as the Sthaviras/Theras ('The Elders'), their doctrines were probably similar to the older Sthaviras but were not completely identical!
Does banging a "brace' of Buddhist girls count?
Don't forget that "he's never been happier" according to his interviews recently.
Charming fellow.

Theravadans believe that every individual is personally responsible for their own self-awakening and liberation, as they are the ones that were responsible for their own actions and consequences!
Dude dropped a silly superstition. We should be commending him, if anything.

Come on guys, just a little self-flagellation for violating the Pine Grove Pledge. It gets lonely on the road.

He said he'll wear it the rest of his life. He didn't say he'd wear it 24/7.
