Disney Storylines Mercifully Won't Include The Plight Of Multi-Millionaires

The Luke Donald-Webb Simpson money title story has caused too many sleepless nights across the globe as these two starving students won't be dueling Sunday over bonus clauses. As Steve Elling explains, Luke's quest came to a likely end at the 14th on Saturday.

Instead, as Helen Ross note, there are some players to watch whose careers are on the line.

Besides co-leaders Chappell and Leonard, there are these guys to keep an eye on:

For others on Sunday hope will spring eternal. Bio Kim, the youngest player on the PGA TOUR finds himself in the final group with Leonard and Chappell, trailing the leaders by one. The 21-year-old who had heart surgery during the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup came into the week ranked 168th on the money list and even with his lofty position on the leaderboard is not yet projected safely in the top 125.

"I have to shoot somewhere around 60s to have a chance," Kim said. "But I don't know, winning's -- you don't -- I can't think of the word. ... I haven't thought about it. So just got another 18 holes to go, so just gotta work hard right now."

So do players like Billy Mayfair, the veteran who was last year's q-school medalist and is currently tied for sixth. He's 127th on the money list but projected now at No. 109. Or Steven Bowditch, who came into the week 135th and now clocks in at No. 124 after moving to 10 under.

Henrik Stenson back from the dead. Apparently Fanny is not on the bag.

Stenson showed signs of life last week, too. Fanny was absent. Probably no causal relationship there.
That moribund plot is heating up, Geoff!
6 birdies in a row on the back...:)

Justin Leonard, Henrik Stenson and Luke Donald are all multi millionaires but semi discreet. It's been a pleasure to watch this tournament, so many compelling storiies.

If there was any question as to whether or not Luke Donald is a worthy World number one (of course I know there was), shooting a back nine 30 to clinch the money title and becoming the first player to top the order of merit on the two major tours in the same year ought to erase that. It's nothing short of a remarkable season, and he'll get his first major next year.

That was impressive.

Plus, he won the event, Hawk.:)
This finish had everything East Lake didn't.
Congrats, LD.

What a day for Donald!!!!!! Wins the Tournament and the PGA Tour (and probably, ET) money list. I supose someone will talk again he doesn't deserve the world's #1 spot......when what a #1 do is what Donald just have done. Congrats!!!!

I certainly wasn't pulling for him, nor did I see any of the action, but kudos to Luke for that round/finish. If that doesn't wrap up POY for him there's something wrong. Wait, ol' 3-Iron Haas is on the Prez Cup team, something is wrong!

Good onya Luke...

Great job by Luke to go out and win the event, and take the title. He's now won 4 times worldwide this year. He absolutely deserves to be #1. Over an extended period of time Tiger was the most dominant player in golf history. If that's your litmus for number 1, then very few are ever going to deserve it.

Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharped dressed man...and wasn't there in a line in that song about a fat wallet?

"Top coat, Top hat,
And I don't worry cause my wallets fat.
Black shades, white gloves,
lookin' sharp, lookin' for love.
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
cause every girl is crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man."

who dat?...Tiger cat? lol

Real winners: Sunghoon Kang and DJ Trahan birdieing their last holes to make top 125 by a shot. Tom Pernice also made it by one shot as well.

Bobby Gates misses out by a shot with a final hole bogey. Pretty crazy finish for those four, as well as Roland Thatcher, who also lost fully exempt status starting the week at 120.
