This is another reason why Twitter is a pain. Everything reads like a one sided conversation. Then, if you click on any links they'll take you to the most recent tweets by that person. If they happen to have the Twitter trots (read: prolific twitterer), then it can take forever to find the one tweet that prompted the response.
