"If I'd have just put the pin left on 17 on Sunday rather than right, would that have made a difference?"

Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love continues to second guess himself for the last two hole locations on Sunday at Medinah.

From an unbylined Reuters report:

"We really may have dropped the ball on pin placements on the last few holes," Love told reporters on Wednesday while preparing for this week's McGladrey Classic at St. Simons Island, Georgia.

"We wanted pins on the left and in the middle of the green because a lot of our guys were drawing it (the ball) in there.

"The most two important holes in the singles came down to 17 and 18 and we had pins where if you hit it long and left, it was tough to get close to the pins because they were on the right. Should we have thought of that? Maybe."

I've never been a DLIII fan, but I do wish he would stop beating himself up. His team played well, and did their best, and I have no doubt they tried for him -- I believe he was well-liked, admired, etc.

They just ran up against a juggernaut. (And his 11 team-mates!).

Gotta like his honesty. Most coaches would go with a "bunker" mentality after a loss like that, his willingness to talk is refreshing. Bring him back in '14.
Stricker gets up and down from 18 feet away, USA wins. Not Davis's fault.

Hogwash Davis...and stop beating yourself up, it's over, everyone said you did a fine job, let it go and go for a paddle.

As for this pin thingy issue...IMO every single person who makes the RC team has the necessary shot to attack the flag no matter where they cut the pin...providing they hit a proper tee shot to set everything up. Is it me or am I wrong thinking that top players should be required to move the ball both ways?

Don't bring him back in '14.

He had his turn. Let someone else have their chance.

The RC is yesterday's news, the cup is where is should be and all things are right in the universe.

Lets get on to talking about this terrific Tiger Chevron...err...whatever bank Challenge thingy that's coming sometime in December. I can't wait to see a bunch of anchor putting chokers battling it out for that trophy with the kitty cat on it.

17 and 18 were left-hander's pins, and US led Europe by 2-0 in that department.
