I didn't see the trophy presentation for Best Aggregate Score in the Majors. Sounds like an obscure technical category often awarded at the Academy Awards presentation - somewhere between the Best Foreign film and Best Animation --- it doesn't mean much, except to the one that 'wins'.

Brian got the total against par wrong but great to see someone spot a great competition which most people didn't know was going on. Adam was for each major= -9, +5, +1 and -7 for a total of -8, I think.
The last holes of the competition were very exciting- four players all with a chance over the last nine holes and few knew.
Jason Day posted a early 67 and a total 16 round majors score of 1134 (8 under), Adam Scott had a bogey at the last, 288th hole, for 1134 and missed winning alone, as he did last year. Henrik Stenson had a chance and Jason Dufner bogeyed the last two holes to miss winning both competitions.

Colin, maybe you need to start compiling arguments as to why you think it is supposed to be a big deal. Until then, one major victory and three no-shows will beat four top-five finishes but no victories any year, no matter the total score. Nobody gets jacked up about the Vardon Trophy, either.

I had a trophy made in 1999 and it was awarded to TW who won it and still has it. Check the website in my post above. Being out of the golf world makes it hard to find some one who wants to pick up the idea.

It's a big deal because playing in, and making the cuts in 4 majors is.
Look at the winners on the website in my post- very few lack lustre names. If the old pgatour qualifying 7 round tournament was tough how hard is 16 rounds? And it's not contrived it's absolutely legitimate and has existed since 1960.
The case could be made that the Majors Aggregate 16 rounds is better than any 4 round part but I won't stir that pot.
