Video: Rio Olympic Golf Course 4th, 5th and 6th Holes

Catching up now post-PGA on the Rio Olympic course, with the fourth, fifth and sixth hole flyovers by Golf Digest and narrated by Gil Hanse.

The par-3 4th hole 191 yards for the men and 155 yards for the women and looks like an ideal sandbelt one-shotter, only windier.

Gil's final rendering of the hole.

The par-5 fifth hole is 547 yards for the men and 493 for the women and plays gently uphill. It's hard to see, but this is a wonderful greensite that should be a great spectating portion of the course.

Gil's rendering of the fifth.

The par-3 sixth plays 196 yards for the men and 177 yards for the women. This hole features two tees, including a blind option over the dune. Strap in, this should be fun!

Gil's final rendering of the 6th includes both tee options.

This looks like a great course to play, but unsure how spectators (if there are any) will get around it. Is there any detail on this? Given that the Olympics is meant to be a spectator-led event? Or was this not a factor in the IOC use-case?

Just a shame it's been built in a place so bereft of interest and attached to an organisation as transparently corrupt as the IOC, because this looks like the one piece of Olympic infrastructure actually ready to use without fear of illness, injury or criminal activity.

The course looks incredible. Love bunkers cut into greens. Much more dramatic than rolling up against a collar.

Every 4 years the Olympics are corrupt (and it's the biggest election in my lifetime) according to some intrepid NYT reporter.

The IOC doesn't own the Olympic golf course and ill have nothing to do with it after the games. Shameful how incredibly short-sighted a lot of folks are.

Any resolution to the Ecclestone kidnapping case?

Apparently released a couple of days ago.

What American or top 10 in the world golfers will be walking in the opening ceremonies on Friday evening? Just curious. If I was fortunate to compete you would see me there (I would be the fat guy) as a golfer you compete in the Olympics to inspire and to be inspired.

Geoff...we all know you have supported Gil Hanse and have been part of this. I hope it is successful in terms of the design of the course for the future of golf in Rio! I want to be positive about golf in the Olympics but so much has happened in terms of the negative ... etc. Let's hope it turns out in a good way.

I think ecclestone offered half the money if they'd knock her off but no luck. She's home safe and sound. Hired hands were total idiots apparently.

are the golfers onsite and playing practice rounds yet?
