Sunday Instagram, Special Pebble Beach Edition: Potter Wins, Faldo's Ace, Fitzgerald's Pro-Am Win, Bryson At Cypress

Ted Potter Jr. not only beat the world’s best player, a former No. 1 and a Hall of Famer. Even better, this was during a round that bogged down badly at the end, providing more time to take in the views and terrible places his golf ball could go.

Jason Day took an interesting path to par at Pebble Beach’s 18th. His emotional post-round interview helped make up for an oddly dull final round given the many interesting contenders.

Nick Faldo’s ace at the 7th, Nantz National Golf Links, has gone viral. As it should!

Kevin Streelman and Larry Fitzgerald won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at -29. Fitzgerald certainly took advantage of his 13 handicap in the grand tradition of other former winners.

Bryson DeChambeau posted a stellar shot of Cypress Point's 15th.

Par with a slight* detour for @jasondayofficial 🤷‍♂️

Larry Fitzgerald is a 13 handicap? He must wear a mask when he enters his scores.

Jack Lemmon, who never made the pro-am cut, was the only one to ever play with an honest handicap. He was like a clean player on a baseball field of roided-up players. I have no doubt Larry does shoot in the high 80s regularly, but probably had a few days of practice and instruction. Great athletes with incredible hand/eye coordination like him can improve immeasurably in that time. Remember George Brett winning with Fred Couples? Let's face it: the pro-am is a joke/afterthought and no one cares.

Fitzgerald and Streelman shot -41 in the pro-am, not -29.

Matt's obsevation that Fitzgerald had a "couple of days of pracice.": His GHIN history has him playing the max of 20 rounds in January (he probably played more than that), plus a few more early this month. So, yeah, he had a couple of days of practice.

Larry seems like a good guy, and also a pro in many respects.

You can also add that he is a professional athlete that is used to playing in front of crowds, and probably tips out most courses. Playing from a six thousand yard long course is pretty easy for a young guy.

Sentences not uttered every day: Nick Faldo, Man of the People.
