Arnold Palmer Has Left The Media Center

The King came by for a chat after the Champions Challenge was cancelled. And of course, stopped to sign for the kids outside.

Why doesen't anyone ever ask Arnold Palmer about his chasing of women in his heyday, back when the media protected him.? I would think it is relevant considering what Tiger has had to answer.

Well Bob, because people love Arnie, that is why. Personality counts.

Clearly, the weather is truly shite. Good luck with the TV coverage trying to track a ball through that cloud. The americans will tune out by early Saturday.

Arnie: what a chump. Doesn't he know that, according to the "Perhaps-One-Day-The-Greatest-Of-All-Time," you should surround yourself with bodyguards and charge through those desperate autographs hounds like the bulls through Pamplon?.

As for Arnie's catting around, he's pretty much said that "all that stuff was exaggerated," but at least when he DID do some chasing, it was with great-looking gals, the girl-next door, not TW's pick-of-the-bottom-of-the-barrel preference of strippers, waitresses, party girls and porn stars.

Quality counts!

So cheating on your wife is OK as long as it is with the "girl next door" types?

Still more details needed, BenS,
Pampion?

Great pictures, Geoff!

Maybe he did; maybe he didn't. But you can't assume hearsay to be evidence when comparing one situation with another in which the undisputed facts have been falling out of the trees and plopping on the ground for everyone to gaze at in astonishment for nearly eight months. Alas.
Bob/Ben Publish your proof or shut the "f" up. I guarantee that the Enquirer or TMZ will run the story with proof. Get the girls to talk, if there are so many I am sure that you will have no problem finding a few. Hell, the tabloids will pay the girls for that kind of story nowadays.

Arnie signs some autographs in bad weather and this is the best Bob can come up with.
Hey BenSeattle,

You are wrong, Tiger did DO the girl next door, you know the daughter of the neighbor.

Also, Ike was screwing around, as was FDR and JFK. so lets let the Nazis win, take back the New Deal, and forget about landing a man on the moon.

I am sure that if Arnie was subject to the intense media scrutiny of today, his dalliances would have stopped or been curtailed

Nice to see Ben and Bob bringing the stupid.
If you can't figure out the difference between Woods behavior on and off the course and other people, I have a bridge to sell both you douches.

Ky/S&T, he did it ad naseum, it's an undeniable fact. S&T, read Rossie's book if you need a first hand account.

Having said that, jjshaska you raise a good point, AP knows how to deal with and treat the public, and they love him for it. Privately is another matter. I believe Deacon raised Arnie to be respectful and a gentleman...Earl's upbringing of Tiger was vastly different and while it's certainly not an excuse Tiger, had no choice in how that upbringing was conducted. Tiger may one day thaw out in a fashion similar to Faldo but it's going to be a long long time until we know, so in the meantime people should just get over it and move on.

Which book by Rossie Del? Who is Rossie?

"He has absolutely no shot" Rossie :)

Apologies, it was a quote Rossie gave for another book...details here:

Del, if a story like that was the the best anyone could come up with concerning Tiger's actions, there wouldn't have been a blip in TW's reputation
Damn. I almost added this to my comment, but deleted it. So here goes: "A too-cute-to-be-true anecdote from Bob Rosburg in a 20-year-old book about something that he says happened 50 years ago is not evidence/proof of anything." And as I re-read the little vignette it is double hearsay. A first-hand account would be Rossie saying that he walked in on the lovebirds, but even then only if he could be asked to repeat his story for the record. Unfortunately that is not possible (and it would actually be nice to hear Rossie instead of Andy on my computer). Come on, guys. S&T is right. At least one of this multitude of ladies, aged 50-80, needs the money TMZ or the Enquirer will pay for a li'l love note from the subject of this talk.
Keep your heads in the sand if you like...suits me.
