2015 Open Championship Final Round Notes & Comment Thread

An extra day should be worth the wait as any number of players stand a chance to win the 2015 Open Championship.

The weather forecast continues to look ominous during the key hours the leaders are on the course, though the gust numbers have come down, mercifully.

The traditional leaderboard.

The final round hole locations are here and maintain the streak of four straight days avoiding Peter Dawson's new second hole bunkers.

@DTF, speaking of Stev(i)e Williams, did you notice that he had his caddie bib off on the 18th green at the end of round 3 (hell, it may have been round 2) and, more significantly, that there was no outcry like there used to be?

Ok, here we go the last 6 holes are about to begging for the leaders, and Jordan just makes a double
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterMark
Wonder if Jordan should have used a wedge for his second
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterMark
Zac Johnson's swing makes my back hurt.

Adam Scott wins for Steve Williams's 15th(?) Major!!!! ;-)

Adam looks strong on the back 9. Would love to see Adam, Jordan and Jason play off!

Marc Leisman winning would be the best story, after nearly losing his wife earlier this year.

Stepped out for a while....and the board has totally changed. Dunne got a couple of shots back and my personal favorite choice Paddy went through the drive-thru after getting to -3 for the day...d'oh.

Zach just hit a 3w or some sort of furniture into a par 4. Gonna be a hard finishing stretch coming back in.

Fun to watch.

Good thought about the Amateurs Carl. It has been great seeing these young golfers play some incredible golf this week.

And Scott hits into a terrible spot in a bunker. Who's next?
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterJim S
Spieth!
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterJocko
@Jim S...and right before that bunker shot, announcer's curse... praising Stevie's recommendation.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commenternancy
Two birds after a four putt double. Guy has ice in his veins. Feeling good about Spieth.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterPaddyC
fyg, Carl P would like to have a word with you outside.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commenterdbh
LOL Adam, WTF was that?
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commenterlev_k
@ play it forward- spot on. 1 plus 1 is the normal term with the players.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commenterchico
Zach with a crafty and well judged layup on 17.

This is good watching at the end of the day here.

Is Melvyn Hunter Morrow really Paul Azinger?

walking and thinking...
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commentertiger
Yes Carl, definitely noticed that. I guess in this instance there isn't really a sponsor to worry about...

I missed Adam's gaffe, he whiff a shorty?

What a wild day!
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterDTF
@DTF - shorty is generous. < 2 feet crusher
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterBrianS
Nail Biter!!! LOL Good Times.... Zach drains the long one on 18!!

Playoff
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commenterhighside
Ok, 15 is the playoff or the winning number? I think play off
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterMark
If a putt ever deserved a bit o' the Chickenwalk it was that one! Good onya Zach!!
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterDTF
Zach vs. Jordan playoff would be epic
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterGood Good
Classy. Zach signs a ball for the raker. Any other tournaments use rakers?
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterPlay It Forward
Zach's caddie looks like the biggest tool. Not the time or the place.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterMark
Too bad for that putt after the great bunker shot by Leishman.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commenterlev_k
Wow!! all one can say is wow!!
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterPress Agent
Padraig Harrington has no chance; his slow play is annoying.........discourteous to his playing partner.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterBob...
Great par on 17 by the Aussie.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterThe O
probably the best competitor ive ever seen. Speith is incredible. Come on- get it done!!
07.20.2015 | Unregistered Commenterchico
Spieth would be winning by miles if he had got to St Andrews early, remember? :)
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterStiggy
Spieth is something special. Wow!
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterPress Agent
That is one Badass Texan!
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterKLG
Who believes in magic!!! This is FAB.
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterNancy
Jordan could have won by 10 if he had skipped John Deere!!! Lol
07.20.2015 | Unregistered CommenterV60
Then it would not have been so exciting.....;-)
